It’s hard to miss the fact that today is the National Day of Service. It’s all over the radio. I blogged about it earlier today. Jenn, our family blogger, also wrote about honoring MLK
by giving back.
wants you to give back, too. They are partnering with HandsOn Network
to raise millions of hours of service across America with the “I’m in!” campaign. If you pledge to give back, Starbucks will give you a free tall coffee.
In participating Starbucks stores across the nation, the American public will have an opportunity to pledge five hours or more of community service toward a local volunteer opportunity of choice. Starbucks will honor each person who pledges with a free tall brewed coffee beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21 through Sunday, Jan. 25. The goal of the effort is to raise pledges in excess of one million hours of service from all over the country.
Starbucks has a website that will allow those participating in the “I’m in!” campaign to track their volunteer hours. At pledge5.starbucks.com
, volunteers can track their hours and get updates on the campaign’s progress. Starting on January 21st
, the site will also be able to connect those who don’t know where to volunteer with opportunities in their local area.
