Fri, Jul 31 2009 at 10:23 PM EST
Green jobs have repeatedly been touted as a pathway out of poverty for many under-employed and unemployed Americans. From New Orleans to California and everywhere in between, cities and states are looking at green jobs to help bridge the income and employment gap in the United States. We can now add Chicago to this list. Mayor Richard Daley recently toured the Growing Home Street Farm, which helps provide green jobs training for disadvantaged youth. Unfortunately, Mayor Daley’s YouTube account prevents the embedding of videos so you’ll have to click through to hear his statements: Green Jobs for All Initiative.
