San Francisco youth prepare for green jobs

Teens and young adults are being severely impacted by the unemployment crisis, but the North Bay Eco-Workforce is training San Francisco youth to take advantage of green job opportunities.

Although the January 2010 unemployment rate dropped to 9.7 percent, teens are still facing double-digit unemployment. More than one-fourth of the teenagers who want to work in this country are currently unemployed. This underserved group has been the target of many green job training programs, including one being offered by the North Bay Eco-Workforce in San Francisco.
 
In this video, participants in the program share their enthusiasm for green jobs and showcase some of the skills they are learning. Training programs like this are preparing today’s youth for lifelong careers.
