At the end of June, Paula Deen, along with fellow Chatham County residents, were cited by county code for keeping backyard chickens.
Thankfully, news on July 8th from WSAV.com reported that the Chatham County residents were able to keep their home grown poultry.
Good news like this doesn't often come along without a lot of time and energy spent rallying supporters and attending county board meetings. Joseph Pond of Marietta, GA (East Cobb) is the latest in a long line of backyard chicken keepers across North America who are moving to change regulation that will allow people in urban and suburban areas to keep chickens.
