my speech about pollution

Attention step When taking a cruise between Los Angeles , California and Honolulu, Hawaii you may be surprised to find the captain will tell you at some point of your lovely trip that you must go into your cabin and don’t come out without the captains verbal permission. You go back to your cabin and you find your stomach has the munchies and you want to order room service only to find that it’s not available. That’s when you smell it the stench; it carries for miles outward from its source the “great” Pacific Ocean garbage patch. Need step The problem clearly stated is pollution. When you hear the word pollution comes to mind it is generally associated with with car exhaust smog acid rain but these things are not the problem. Yes they are a problem in the long run but let’s face it people when was the last time you heard an acid rain or smog alert. Probably never air pollution is not effecting the world as much as ground pollution and sea pollution specifically sea pollution. Sea pollution in my opinion is more significant because land pollution affect around 90% of sea “The world’s largest land fill is not on land”writes Russell McLendon for MNN news. The “great” Pacific Ocean garbage patch or POGP for short stretches for thousands of Milles in the Pacific Ocean. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch has sometimes been described as a "trash island," but that's a misconception, says Holly Bamford, director of NOAA’s debris program. If only things were that simple. "We could just go out there and scoop up an island, if it was one big mass, it would make our jobs a whole lot easier”. “Instead, it's like a galaxy of garbage, populated by billions of smaller trash islands that may be hidden underwater or spread out over many miles. That can make it maddeningly difficult to study” — Bamford says. Still we don't know how big the garbage patch is, despite the claim that it's as big as Texas yes, as big as Texas as in the 268820 square mile lone star state Texas. That’s only in the POGP there other floating garbage patches such as the plastic sea of the Atlantic or its sister in the carbines booth of which are the size of France which is 260558 sq. mi together that’s 780399 square miles a relative 1/5 the USA in square miles and big enough to wrap around the circumference earth which is 24,901.55 miles a shocking 31.3 times. It is a big problem. Solution step The contents of the POGP and others cannot be cleared because it is so wide spread without causing more harm than good. The only solution is to not pollute easy right. Obviously not if people throw things on the ground out of laziness and can’t wait until they find a freaking trash can there everywhere just hold on to your trash and walk 20-30 feet and put it in a trash can or. You super over achievers can walk right next to the recycle bin generally located next to the trash can and actually recycle your plastics. Go over achievers gold stars and blue ribbons for you all. Visualization step Want to Help the planet and create jobs, all at the same time? According to USA today, it might be that easy: If the US to increases its recycling rate from 33% to 75% by 2030 succeeds, an additional 1.5 million jobs will be created, according to the Tellus Institute. Why such a bump? According to the report, waste diversion is more labor intensive than waste disposal, meaning it requires more workers to assist with trash collecting, processing, composting, and making new recycled products. If the plan is enacted, the US would see 2.3 million jobs generated—1.5 million more than existed in 2008, and 1.1 million more than would be created at our current level of recycling. And, as a bonus, pollution will be reduced—the drop in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 would be equal to pulling 50 million cars off the road. Challenge step Why would you intently pollute when I have just explained why not to. I would ask you to give me reason why to pollute but it would be a waste because there is no reason when you leave this room you shouldn’t keep on or stop recycling Eat your fruits and veggies Don’t do drugs And don’t litter you awesome overachieving people Sources http://www.greenstudentu.com/encyclopedia/pollution http://www.newser.com/story/133396/how-to-create-15m-jobs-bump-up-recycl... http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/translating-uncle-sam/stories/what-is-t...
