It may seem impersonal, but every year I put a wishlist on Amazon.com for the things that people can buy me for my birthday or Christmas. Hey, it works!!! People know exactly what I want, and I am still surprised (sort of!).

This year, I heard about something I really wanted. You see, we've been trying to cut down on the amount of food garbage that we either throw away or put down the garbage disposal. We recycle almost everything we use, but there is still that pesky food garbage. I don't really have time with my current schedule to do a backyard-type compost pile, plus I live in a condo, so my neighbors probably wouldn't be too keen on a big pile of food garbage in our shared backyard.

So, on my list this year is a automatic composter! It fits in the same space that a normal kitchen trash can would take up. You just put the food in, and close the lid, and every few weeks you can empty out the compost. Ahhhh...I'm pretty sure I won't get it, because it's expensive, but is a nice luxury to have. A girl can keep wishing right? And maybe Santa will bring it to me next year....(or I can step in for Santa and save up and buy it myself!)
