How To Make Use Of Eco-Friendly Dry Cleaning System

By

Dry cleaning itself is a challenging business that comes with a variety of issues like environmental issues, worker exposure, waste disposal, array of regulations and other restrictions. That is why dry cleaning companies often face difficulties while providing cost-effective service to dry-cleaning customer.
Issues with conventional dry cleaners:
Traditional dry cleaning fluid is a major contaminant of ground water aquifers. The solvent Tetrachloroethylene what we commonly call “Perc” poses a major threat to environmental safety. It is also known as cancer causing agent. Even short term exposure to Perc can cause harmful health hazards like giddiness, weakness, headaches, sweating etc. Because of its complicated composition Perc doesn’t get decomposed once spilled through the sewage system.
Now United States is taking possible remedies by banning the use of perc. In fact eco-conscious consumers need to take some urgent steps to help clean the environment and your wardrobe too.
The solution lies within your range of activities only. Few of those are discussed here.
Find professionals offering non-perc dry cleaning service - Check whether your service provider offers high-pressure cleaning with the use of liquid carbon dioxide or silicone-based cleaners (known as Green Earth cleaning). This works better than old-perc. High-tech and computer-controlled wet washing are some other alternatives too.
If we talk about greener and healthier dry cleaning systems, wet cleaning is always a good option. Use of biodegradable soap and water in computer driven dryers and stretching machines can maintain the natural size and shape of the fabric. Among other perc-free solvents, petroleum solvents or hydrocarbon solvents like Exxon D-2000 can be used as a dry cleaner.
You can also make the best use of modern washers and replace hand washing methods. If thinking of upgrading your laundry room, just consider front-loading washer. They are water efficient and money saving too.
Finally it is the responsibility of dry cleaners and laundry services to join some environment awareness program and redesign their cleaning system. It can be through different means like - use of recycled hanger, conserving water and energy, using less tissue paper or plastics bags. If you are from US, you could grab some exemplary definitions of Environmental dry cleaning South Miami. Most of the cleaner and dryer services over there are taking eco-friendly approach towards their work process.
