Snow & Ross's geese take flight at sunset

This image was taken at Merced National Wildlife Refuge, Merced County, California. The winter migration of geese and other bird species is an excellent time to make watching sunsets a priority, especially if you're near wetlands. Watching birds fly out to roost for the evening is a spectacular sight. If you need extra inspiration to get outside and enjoy the shift from day to night, then think about witnessing the beauty of birds silhouetted against the sky!
