10 animals at risk of extinction from the Gulf oil spill

  • Kemp's ridley turtle
  • North Atlantic bluefin tuna
  • Great Lakes piping plover
  • Elkhorn coral
  • Brown pelican
  • Sawfish
  • Sperm whales
  • Manatees
  • Gulf sturgeon
  • Batfish
At least 600 Gulf species are likely to experience reduced numbers and harmful effects for generations to come. For a handful of species, however, the spill may be the final nail in the coffin.

The facts are, we are the ONLY planet out of 100 billion known to have the right conditions to sustain life. The facts are we do not deserve to call Earth home. We humans have been brainwashed so badly by religion and major corporaions that, even if we want to do something about our environment there aren't enough of us that are willing to die for this cause. It saddens me so, to know that all the beauty in this world is being murdered for the price of a handbag or a fur coat, and for sport..... More

If you research oil spills around the globe, the gulf spill isn't even the most devastating to the enviornment. As the population of humans continues to grow, we will continue to rely on resources as crude oil to sustain this growth. We will continue to cut down the rain forests for the wood to supply the housing market. We will continue to move civilization towards lands that were once animal habitats. There are many organizations that are trying to help our planet, but the reality is money..... More
