seriously; quit being so damn selfish; the human race needs to die off so that EARTH has a chance. It's ****** up that NOTHING is EVER GOOD ENOUGH; always expanding; always wanting something new some new space to work with; or some animal to eat; why cant you eat a cow or a deer? something that is over populated. but no, you would rather eat something in danger and destroy the only place and only thing God gave us. **** the humans that are like this. Maybe if you all gave more of a care for.... More

Very sad situation. But I think we can put humans on the list as well. We are masters of our own downfall as we destroy this beautiful, beautiful planet.

Sure, it's the low numbers of human popuplation that's causing all others to be endangered.

Since many of these species are becoming extinct because of loss of their habitats, one way humans throughout the world can protect them is by practicing birth control. This would reduce populations worldwide, and decrease the need for raw materials, such as wood, to build homes. We would therefore decrease our encroachment on their habitats. Industry also must consider the consequences of unchecked greed on animals. Unfortunately, the bottom line usually wins.

Orangutans

About 62,000 Orangutans live on the Southeast Asian islands of Borneo and Sumatra. Their habitat has been chopped up into smaller, more isolated pockets. Logging, road construction and especially the creation of palm-oil plantations have leveled their habitats, leaving them vulnerable to hunting and kidnapping (to be sold as pets). Like mountain gorillas, orangutans have the benefit of good PR, but that might not be enough.
