10 animals presumed extinct in the last decade

No, animals don't just dissapear because they have a limited time on the planet. It's not like they are clocking out, that is a very stupid idea. We are wiping them out. We are wiping out flora and fauna in the Amazon, and that is where most of the modern drugs you get from a pharmacy. We are wiping things out we don't yet understand, we may be wiping out plants now, that could've been cures and treatments for humans tomorow.

we shouldnt be killing the animals because people who r poor kill them for food coz they cant afford it but the thing is im against animal cruelty but i do like my bacon!!!

Isn't it the case that ALL species have a time on the earth, come into existence and eventually go extinct?

I dont beleive that is the case, some species have rather manipulated their genome and evolved into a better developed creature instead of becoming extinct. For example we still have some animals from prehistoric times that have not gone extinct but have ultimately just been altered, including the crocodile and even the rat.

They were decimated in such a short time that your theory has no weight or proof. That kind of change can take hundreds of centuries if not thousands but like the giant Moa Dodos were annihilated in such a short time that evolution of that kind is never possible even for amphibians, fish and reptiles which usually do this faster than other animals.

u knw its sad to see so many animals going extinct we should save them not kill them

Maybe they are like State Troopers:-) Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there

I can't figure it out, but I think something is off.

The dodo became extinct before the 20th century - the rest during the 20th century - and - yes - extinction does occur but could be that the lives of animals and humans may last a little longer with taking care of them. Sarcasm gets you nowhere.

You want to explain why you put the quotation marks around "Dr." when referring to me? I put in a lot of years, money, and effort to earn my medical degree and that title. My Florida license is OS7246. I graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine in California in 1986. Check the facts. THEN you can try being insulting with your little doubt-implying quotations marks.

They sure were! Can you imagine Bristol smeared in bar-b-cue sauce?

This article just takes a look at 10 species that were either declared extinct this decade or that scientists think may have gone extinct this decade, which resulted in a change of the animals' status — these are often labeled extinct in the wild, functionally extinct or critically endangered/possibly extinct by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

human overpopulation is the root cause of all the most of the world's environmental issues hyped in the headlines. It's not that there's not enough fish, food, or resources, it's that there are way too many people reproducing, consuming, and polluting. Sooner or later nature will find a way to correct that if mankind doesn't and WE will be the species that becomes extinct..

Your comment totally nails it.The greenest single thing a person can do is NOT have kids.Accordingly, adoption takes on a new green meaning that should only add to its appeal.Mandatory population control (how about a license to have kids?) sounds harsh, but isn't compared to the scourges of overpopulation.

It's nice to hear someone else say what I've been saying for years. We need to take serious steps to reduce our birth rate. Giving tax breaks to people without kids and placing a tax on kids is a great way to start.

I'm not cutting daisies or anything, however at least more species were found than went extinct.

It's not like 1200 species were added to the Earth. These species obviously existed before man discovered them. How many species have become extinct that man has never known about ?

Ah yes, blame it on Bush, "Doctor" Reppy; maybe it is not to late to get your money back for your doctorate. I should not have to tell a genius such as yourself, but there is this part of evolution called natural selection which accounts for the loss of most of the species. Try reading Darwin, if you can read, that is.
