I agree that carp are a natural phenomenon. Today 05:39 AM

They should be controlled compassionately instead of being hunted. There has to be a compassionate way to stop them from overbreeding.

It seems to me, reading through these, that, while the article may be pointing to the ANIMALS that are problems, it is also highlighting that HUMAN INTERVENTION is the real root of the problem, not the animals! With each of these examples, humans either CAUSED the animals to be problems, or exacerbated their natural destructiveness (such as with the elephants or the bark beetles.)

Over-grazing cattles, Hyperactive locusts, extreme populations of poisonous starfish, etc. are caused by human pollution. So aren't we the most dangerous animal? ;-)

Common carp

The common carp is a true bottom feeder, uprooting and disturbing submerged vegetation. These fish are notorious for altering their environment. They are most dangerous when introduced into an alien habitat and become an invasive species. They are believed to exist in all the continental states except Maine. Natural resource agencies in the United States and Australia spend millions annually to control the common carp.
