At risk — 11 U.S. species endangered by climate change
the problem is us. humans are a virus out of control. we dont respect the others . simple like that . stop having babys humans equals shit
One problem I have with this article is the use of the term "global warming." The correct term is "global climate change" because the earth is not, in fact, getting warmer. The average surface temperature has fallen. The record high temperatures were set in the 1930s and temps have declined since.
One problem I have with YOUR comment is that the record high temperatures in the 20s and 30s you're referring to were not measures of global mean temp, but of mean temp of the USA. Therefore, your comment is completely irrelevant to any argument about global warming or "global climate change".
Climate change has been making species extinct for hundreds of millions of years without the help of humans, just ask the dinosaurs.
The catastrophic event caused change in the climatic conditions of the world which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. No outright meteor strike killed every last species that went extinct at the time, it was a chain reaction. Other various changes in climatic conditions, such as the end of the ice age, served as exterminators of entire species as well. Anthropogenically caused climate change should still be treated as a special case, but it needs to be looked at through this kind of lens.
True, climate has always changed in the past. The problem with the current climate change - which most certainly has anthropogenic cause - is the rate of change. Never in the recent past has the climate changed so rapidly, and thousands of climate scientists would agree that this rapid change is due to human factors. Animal species cannot adapt in one single lifetime. Changes are happening too fast. This is why animals are going extinct.
Dinosaurs became extinct, most likely, due to an acute global catastrophe (meteor), not by slow emission of CO2 from the burning of fossile (dinosaurs) fuel. Get your facts right.Enter your comments here
