It is a squid.
A colossal squid.
It accidentally was snared in the trawler's net. The first, and prolly, only event of that kind. Ever.
But biologists have always had proof the giant and colossal squid existed, thru the remains of them in the stomach's of harpooned Sperm whales. A squid has a beak much like a bird. A sliimy, plate sized eye bird that ate large amounts of flesh it rendered with it razor-sharp beak, as it dragged you down 500...1000...2000....and finally 3000.... More

Colossal squid

The legend of the mythical sea monster known as the Kraken, which in most depictions resembles a mammoth cephalopod, is likely derived from sightings of giant or colossal squid. The colossal squid's limbs are equipped with sharp hooks, some of which swivel. Since these beasts prefer to dwell in deep ocean waters, sightings of giant squid are rare but possible.
