This is a rather unconventional series - 15 cute animals. I just saw the big cats one also. Though to some people, not all pictures would appear to be cute,
but its a great effort by the author who compiled the pics - as one of the wise quotes goes - everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. Primates are already treated in the MOST ATROCIOUS fashion, everything from being experimented, caged in zoos, exploited for entertainment and eatten. "White" people do get sickle cell. Anywhere malarial mosquitos live the sickle cell allele exists. It is actual an adaptation that, if you are a heterozygote, makes you resistant to malaria. It happens to people of Mediterranean ancestry (Greeks, etc) also. Just because it seems to be an "African" disease in the US because the largest proportion of people to get it are of African ancestry (where malaria is prevalent) does not mean it does not exist in other areas.

Just because the book of the religion of one's parents says that the god of said religion created everything, it doesn't actually mean that everything being here proves the god of one's parents religion exists. There are other books of other religions of which who's god or gods are also said to have created everything. This is not an attempt to discredit any religion, but an attempt to request a better form of validation of one's god.

Some other posts I've read asked for relevant proof that God exists. Though I have read the bible, and yes, I do agree that though it is called God's word, quite a bit has been left out, I can't give concrete proof. All I can say to that is it all has to do with faith. If you have faith in God's miracles or His creations, then you, in realtive terms, believe in God.
For those who have mentioned that just because you do not believe in the Christian God, it doesn't make you Atheist, I completely agree.
I can tell you though that I find this entire conversation quite humourous because after reading a majority of religious texts, and reading a lot about other religions, I must point out, that the stories are the same. A god or goddess created creatures and humans, created a place where serenity was to take over...and instead that perfect world collapsed. There were floods, pain, famine and war. Death. The first death always occured because one brother killed the other. That little heaven on earth collapsed because the man decided to follow the woman into sin.
So the way I look at it, honestly, there is no right or wrong answer. You believe what you believe. I believe what I believe. There's no point arguing over it, because seriously? When we die? Who cares? We won't be here to worry about it anymore. We'll be somewhere else. And...yeah. That's the end of my rant. Sorry for the long post.

There's a book called 'Misquoting Jesus' by Bart D. Ehram. He studied the bible first at the Moody Bible Institute and then at then Wheaten college then to Princeton Theological society. This book is about as factual as you can get on the bible which IS fiction thought it does have some good moral guidance.

An octopus will bite you if you threaten it or step on it. A funny colored bird may disembowel you if you threaten it. I visit sites like this from time to time. But to be honest I never post. Why? Because I'm a biologist. Arguing points here does nothing. These sites give decent information. However, all the key points that need to be discussed, happen in conventions weeks and months before they appear here. So technically you're right, but there's really no need to point fingers and throw insults. These issues are discussed and handled by professionals, so don't worry. =)

There are quite a few mentions of God and religion on this post. It seems it would serve a lot of you well to take a philosophy of religion course and quite a few history courses. Almost no page of any bible can be dated to the time the events were supposed to take place. Most accounts are written by people seperated by generations from the event. I think it's probably best to be agnostic. That way, you aren't surprised by any religious outcome there could be at the end of the road. Religious people may not agree, atheists may not agree, but agnostics don't fight because we are vary opened minded people. Sure, God can exist. Evolution is just the change of things over time. We are able to eat meat yes, but not a lot. Our body's were made to eat berries, nuts, and the like, but we would only catch the OCCASIONAL animal for eat. To have most of your diet meat is unhealthy. Meat is harder to digest and takes much more energy to.
And yes this is valid information, I work at OHSU's Primate Research Facility in Beaverton.

Okay, here's what I have to say about this debate.
We should keep some animals in zoos just in case something really bad happens to that species and they almost all die out. For instance, most of the Tiger population is housed in zoos. But the majority of the species should be set free, and we can hunt them if it won't harm the population as a whole. After all, eating meat is in our nature.
And any animal will kill you if you back it into a corner. These are just cute.

Humans are able to eat any kind of food. Humans can live easily without meat. We evolved from primates, which barely ever eat animals other than bugs. So technically, eating meat is in our nature, but the human race decided that eating excessive amounts of meat is necessary, which it isn't.
