There are plenty of funds to Gaza. Hamas just chooses to spends its money on Jihad, and not for the good of it's own citizens.

This region of the world hold no moral values other than, "what's in it for me" "do the means justify the ends?" That's a huge difference in the tenants that the vast majority of the Western culture values. Which is basically don't lie to children, as they'll grow up thinking that's an exceptable way to live ones life. It is not! It is totally reprehensible! Your dolt of a kid won't realize his zebra is just a donkey in drag!

Wow, that's a pretty set and all-encompassing vision of an entire "region of the world" based on a painted donkey. It may not be an *acceptable* way to live or to raise children, but it seems to me that you come off as highly biased against an entire peoples by stating that. And from what I hear, that's not an acceptable value or *tenet* in Western culture either.

I look at these and wonder what has happened to us? Why have we gone so wrong as to treat our fellow inhabitants and important friends of the earth so poorly? How did we get here? What have we done? How do we fix this? Is the future of animals that of painted statue animals because we have lost our minds on ourselves and that's all we have left is the memory and a story of what was? Who are we to imprison animals like this? My question is "if this how we are treating animals what does it say.... More

The best that these "zoo's" could do is give what animals they can to more reputable zoo's,keep want they can only afford to maintain with proper care and humanely dispose of want they can not care for. These animals should have never been captured or bought. There are so many atrocities in our world and unfortunately people are going to put people first before taking responsibility for the inhumane treatment of animals.

Gaza Zoo

Gaza is another place you wouldn't necessarily think of having a zoo. In recent years the Palestinian city has suffered from Israeli blockades and internal conflicts, and its zoo hasn't fared much better. Today it houses two lions, a few monkeys, some birds, rabbits, cats, dogs and two fake zebras: donkeys painted with black and white stripes (pictured).

The zoo once had two real zebras in its collection, but they died of malnutrition during the Israel-Hamas war, when there was actual fighting within the zoo itself. Zoo officials later tried to replace the zebras, but finally opted for painted donkeys due to limited funds.
