Hopefully, even the smallest effort put forth can help these beautiful creatures from being wiped out. It's of no consequence whether we consume them or not. It's called "moderation." Something we should all use when we open our mouths as well. However, everyone is entitled to an opinion no matter how crude. No use getting too emotional over it.
Every life is precious whether it be seen or unseen by our own eyes. We should all be thankful for our accomplishments to assist these animals in their.... More

I don't understand this whole PETA mentality. Ya wanna know what i think when i carve into a steak? I'll give you some insight, when i carve into a tender juicy steak, i think about what it's gonna taste like. Don't you ever wonder about dogs? My two dogs eat regular dog food and they have teeth to eat meat, yet when i go outside, they're over yonder grazing in my backyard. Are you telling me that my dogs are evil for eating plants? Natural selection my friend, survival of the.... More

I certainly hope you are kidding with this question as it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! We are made of so called "meat" and do you see other humans cannibalizing other humans??? Meat is consumed because humans grew away from eating vegetables, we are not built to consume meat, we do not have the teeth necessary to consume meat and yet we continue this barbaric practice...What makes a chicken, cow, pig rabbit, goat, etc any different from consuming a cat or dog??? Think about that the.... More

Did you know that some animals eat humans?? :O Big shock right? So what's wrong with humans eating animals??
Did you also know that our teeth are actually made to consume meat and vegetables?? Omg riiight??
The difference from eating chicken, cow etc from a cat or dog is simple they're looked upon as pets... (Although some other places are fine with eating them.) dun dun dunnnnnn

That was really uncalled for. Maybe some of us would like to do some good in the world. If that is not the case for you, fine, but don't talk down about the people that would like to make a difference. Your comment made you sound like the idiot.

You DO realize that it is in preserving each species that we save ourselves right? Why don't you go read a book. Even speaking from a biblical standpoint humans are masters of the animals...which is NOT to say we rule the world as so many of us arrogantly believe. It means that we must protect and love each creature. Moron.

The comment that god put these animals here would also bring up the fact that the bible tells us the earth all that is in it is here for our use. While I don't believe is such rubbish as the bible puts forth, stating that animals should be protected because god put them here goes against the teachings of his bible.

Have you ever even READ the Bible. If you have, maybe you should first ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your readings and try again because apparently you fall into the arrogant category of humans that think we rule the world.

There's a difference between making use of something, and then abusing it. Prescription pills are made for our "use", so take the whole bottle at once? Animals have a purpose in every ecological system, we need to work with them instead of destroying, or throwing a monkey wrench in the mix.

Extinction is but one of the many cycles the Earth follows, species evolve, change, die off... so on - so forth. Heck, human kind's turn won't be long(geographic time, not human time)

I wish that all people would realize the importance of keeping these animals alive. Its not just our earth, God put these animals here too and we need to share and stop taking advantage of the earth.

Galápagos tortoise

Galápagos tortoises are the largest living tortoise — fully grown adults can tip the scales at over 650 pounds and grow to be 4 feet long. A long-lived species, this tortoise can live to be 150 years old. They are native to seven islands in the Galápagos archipelago. Though still threatened after a few centuries of over-hunting, Galápagos tortoises have been making a strong comeback in recent years thanks to the development of the Galápagos National Park and a successful captive breeding program. Unfortunately, one subspecies out of the 12 is functionally extinct — the last remaining individual lives in a zoo.
