Whiskers help otters "see"
For many animals, whiskers are an important part of being able to sense the world. We just love how this photograph shows off the facial whiskers of this river otter. The highly sensitive whiskers can not only alert otters to prey when they touch it, but can also pick up on underwater vibrations to help an otter home in on the movements and location of prey. Without them, an otter wouldn't be nearly as successful of a hunter.
