Bank voles are adorable little creatures. And they're also busy! They lead very short lives, only making it to about 18 months to 2 years old. So they pack in as much activity as possible in their short lives. They are active both day and night and skip winter hibernation altogether. Females can have as many as four litters of pups in the summer! This image was one of our favorites from the month, as well as a favorite of readers, and it was submitted for our series by Phil Johnston.
