Chuva the macaw
Parrots are known for their intelligence, and Chuva, a resident of Vancouver Zoo's Parrot Gardens, is a good example. How Chuva pulled off her grand escape is still largely a mystery to zookeepers. Even though she had her wings clipped, the clever macaw somehow still managed to flutter out of her exhibit and walk into the zoo's parking lot undetected. From there, the bird hitched a ride on an RV — yes, an RV (presumably to make up for the fact that her wings were clipped) — by hiding in a cabinet in the vehicle's engine.
Her ride lasted three days and at least 20 miles before the RV owners finally found the bird and returned her to the zoo.
