Snowy owl chick at Yukon Bay
A snowy owl chick, one of five born in Hanover Zoo's "Yukon Bay" exhibit, squawks from behind the wires of its enclosure in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany on Aug. 4.
Although adult males are almost entirely white, females and chicks have dark features and accents. The younger male owls lose their black feathers as they age.
