Storks return to the wildMichael Kaatz, Katrin Schmidt and Petra Meier of the ornithological institute, Strorchenhof ("stork yard"), return white storks to the wild in Loburg, Germany on Aug. 19.
Since the founding of the institute in 1979, more than 1,400 storks have been treated there. Two-thirds of the animals are able to return to the wild afterwards. During spring and summer, about 40 to 60 storks are under treatment in the enclosure.
