Uggie the dog is lifted into the air by producer Thomas Langmann as actress Missi Pyle, actor Jean Dujardin and director Michel Hazanaviciu hang out in the press room on Jan. 15 following their Golden Globe win for the Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy award for "The Artist" at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

 

Born in 2002, Uggie has appeared in a variety of commercials and films over the years. The Jack Russell terrier shot to global fame after stealing many of the scenes in the 2011 silent film.

 

Following this recent film success, Uggie's trainer has decided to retire the nearly 10-year-old canine from the long hours of movie filming in favor of less intense jobs.
