Repopulating Pinta IslandOne of 39 Galapagos tortoises bred on the island of Santa Cruz arrives on Pinta Island, located on the Galapagos archipelago near Ecuador, on May 17 — 38 years after of the recovery of Lonesome George, the last of his species. Giant turtles, which are part of a repopulation program, are the symbol for conservation at the World Heritage Site Galapagos.
