This is the time of year when we'll start seeing more abandoned or hurt baby animals. If you spot an animal in distress, do not attempt to rescue it yourself; instead, call your local wildlife rescue organization. Some animals may seem like they're in distress but are actually using a defense mechanism that we misinterpret as an injury. In addition, wildlife could be carrying pests or diseases, so only a trained rescue worker should handle them.
