Prior to Jan. 18, 2011, chances are that most people had never heard of the tough and fearless critter known as the honey badger. But everything changed after that date, when a man named Randall posted "Crazy Nasty*** Honey Badger" to YouTube. The Huffington Post has called it the "best nature video of all time."

Viewers seem to agree. "Honey Badger" has been watched more than 4 million times on YouTube, and thousands of times more on Funny or Die and College Humor, among other sites.

The footage isn't original — it's cribbed from a promotion for a National Geographic Channel special — but what made it a pop culture phenomenon is Randall's hilarious, over-the-top narration. "Oh my gosh," Randall exclaims as the honey badger digs into a fresh snake. As the animal faces a giant cobra, a hive of bees and other beasties, Randall's narration ranges from amazed — "Honey badger don't care" — to a disgusted "Ewwww" as the badger chows down on a fresh kill. Sir Richard Attenborough he's not.

Honey badger may not care, but Randall really does. He's an animal lover, and his Twitter feed is full of calls to help the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and other organizations.

Randall also has a bunch of other videos online, with titles like "The Miracle of the Daffy Jesus Lizard" and "Gang Flamingo Versus Team Baboon." They're not as popular as "Honey Badger" yet, but honey badger couldn't care less. He's already chowing down on another cobra.

"Nothing can stop the honey badger," says Randall. And nothing seems to be able to slow down the interest in this video. You can check it out here, just watch out for some occasional not-safe-for-work (or kids) language:
