Snow monkeys
A troop of Japanese macaque monkeys huddle together on Jan. 26 in an effort to shield themselves from freezing, snowy weather at Awajishima Monkey Center in Sumoto, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
Also referred to as snow monkeys, Japanese macaques reside in the forests of northern Japan. They are famous for their peculiar wintertime activities, which include bathing in hot springs and engaging in epic snowball fights.
