A baby gorilla was delivered by a rare cesarean section at the San Diego Zoo last week, but now there are complications.

After birth, the newborn female ape underwent emergency surgery for a collapsed lung and is now battling pneumonia.

An 18-year-old gorilla named Imani, who's considered old for a first-time mother, gave birth to the 4.6-pound female infant on March 12.
