This little octopus is so adorable that it just might be named for its cuteness.

Scientists have been aware of the rare cephalopod since 1990; however, it hasn’t been scientifically described until recently.

"As someone that's describing the species you get to pick what the specific name is," said Stephanie Bush, postdoctoral fellow at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. "One of the thoughts I had was making it 'Opisthoteuthis adorabilis' because they're really cute."
