The National Zoo's panda cub, Bao Bao, took her first trip outside today, accompanied by her mother, Mei Xiang.

Before letting her into the enclosure, zookeepers "cub-proofed" the area by trimming tree limbs, placing collars on trees to prevent her from climbing too high and spreading out hay to cushion any potential falls.

You can watch Bao Bao live on the zoo's panda cam.
