On a dark and stormy night ...

The Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) endures a dramatic strike of lightning during an evening storm on June 12 in downtown Chicago.

A massive storm system — replete with heavy rain, high winds, hail and possibly even tornadoes — is currently moving through the Midwest, and is expected to hit the Mid-Atlantic later this week.
