After a fiercely bitter, sub-zero winter that broke records across North America, the first signs of spring are finally bursting onto the scene.

Snow is melting, flowers are blooming, allergy sufferers are suffering and almost everyone is venturing outdoors in hopes of replenishing their vitamin D levels.

The official start date for the spring equinox is March 20, but the true essence of the season may be a few weeks off depending on where you live (I'm looking at you, Chicago). If that's the case for you, tide yourself over with these dreamy spring images that will give you hope for the impending warm weather.
