The No Impact Week starts Sunday

Spend a week living a cleaner, greener life with me, the Huffington Post and No Impact Man.

Mon, Oct 12 2009 at 12:55 PM EST

What are you doing next week?

You should join me and thousands of others (and maybe Stephen Colbert) in taking part in the No Impact Week, a one-week CO2 cleanse hosted by Colin Beavan, aka No Impact Man, and the Huffington Post that starts Sunday, Oct. 18.

Everyone participating in No Impact Week will be given daily guidelines for how to live a life with less impact. The hope is that we all take away some things that make our everyday lives greener.

I think a lot of people would make greener life choices if they knew how to make them. It's not easy being greener; it requires a lot of work, patience, and knowledge to start to cut down on the environmental impact of our cushy First World lives. People who are already going down the greener path will no doubt discover new ways to branch out their eco-efforts after taking part in the No Impact Week, and many new converts will dip their toes into environmental living for the first time.

Colin was recently a guest on The Colbert Report, the No Impact Project should benefit from the fabled Colbert Bump.
