Fun list-- I was struck by four animated children's cartoons on the list of Top 10 environmental disaster movies. Not a subject you think would attract Disney, Pixar-- or parents. But I'd like to add one to the list: 1972's Silent Running. Starring an impossibly young Bruce Dern as a botanist, Earth's last wild plants are preserved in floating domes in space, and Dern cares for them while awaiting reforesting the Earth.
