Palestinians walk through the snowy streets of the West Bank city of Hebron on March 2.

After several days of heavy rain and hail, Israelis and Palestinians awoke March 2 to a thin coating of snow across the Holy Land. The weather is a welcome sight for many residents living in areas surrounding Jerusalem, which hasn't received significant snowfall in nearly four years.

Everyone likes a snow day

Although areas surrounding Jerusalem had been making snow-removal preparations in the days leading up to the storm, schools and roads were completely closed in northern areas like the Golan Heights and Safad.
