Garden state aflame
Firefighters hose down vegetation on April 11 during a battle with a brush fire that broke out in the Meadowlands near MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Although the investigation is under way to determine if the 100-acre brush fire was the result of arson, extremely dry air and strong winds are known to have contributed to the blaze.
No casualties were reported and only a handful of houses sustained damages, but fire departments from around the area were out in force, working together to contain the flames. Other brush fires sparked by the dry weather burned in New York and Tennessee.
