A landslide in Southern Italy caused by torrential rains was captured on video, with onlookers fleeing as a hillside crumbled and poured down into the valley below. 2,300 villagers in the Calabria region were evacuated on February 17th as officials began emergency rescue efforts.

The Vancouver Sun reports that about 300 evacuees have been taken to impromptu shelters. This evacuation follows Monday’s in nearby San Fratello, where a series of landslides destroyed homes.

No fatalities have been reported.
