If you use Firefox to navigate the information superhighway, you should install the Black Oil plugin, which leaks dripping oil on your screen whenever "BP", "oil", and other associated oily words show up.

Here are a few screen shots of the plugin in action.

The spill is sad, Haiti is sad, our economy is sad, the starving kids in africa are sad too. Humans pretty much turned the world into a terrible place with their greed. We all want someone to make world peace and solve all of our problems so we throw money at who ever is willing to take it and think we don't have to feel guilty about the problem anymore. Then we can justify complaining about fuel prices and food prices and at the same time complain about outsourced jobs and minimum wages that keep
.... More
prices low. We want the best for the world, but refuse to give up our luxuries, and because we don't want to admit that we are creating the problem, we blame the people creating our vices. We are like alcoholics blaming the liquore store for ruining our lives, we completely void our selves of self control and free will and while we constantly critisize big government and fear communism and socialism we demand that the government make all of our dreams come true. This isn't BP's fault, its humanities fault.

Capitalism plays on the whims of human nature. You need to learn about this history of social class. Oppression and unde-education of the masses in order to keep them complacent. In any case if the mass refuses to follow the order of the oppresser, their is nothing the opresser can do short of physical violence... which is why creating an impoverished majority works in their favor. It's human nature to ignore or to simplify world events when you're constantly focused on your own survival.

The public loves scapegoats to death, and they've hit black gold with BP. Doesn't change the fact that they've done nothing much wrong. If you transport oil, like many other companies, eventually one of the tankers will spill. It's horrible, but it won't change unless we decide to stop importing oil altogether.

In short:
Untwist your bloody knickers and try to live for five seconds without someone to hate.

Nice way to help you feel connected to the plight of the people affected without lifting a finger or giving a red cent to do anything about the problem.

What is it with you people wanting to "stay connected"? Get on with your lives already - it's not like you're showering in oil everyday now because of the spill.

Nice way to help you feel connected to the plight of the people affected without lifting a finger or giving a red cent to do anything about the problem. "I think it will help not to forget the oil spill and the disaster that's happening in the Gulf right now" - As if the government and the news outlets would let you forget. 'Never mind the family slaughtered two doors down from you or the impending economic collapse, lets all feel bad for this oily pigeon.' What Saddam Husein did in 1990 to the oil
.... More
fields and the off-shore rigs in Kuwait makes this look like a smudge on a driveway. Get a grip, push yourself away from your computer, go outside and pick up a tar ball or two. That will help infinitely more than this browser plug-in ever will.
