Here are a few good stores that popped up on my radar today. Enjoy!
Modern nuclear plants are required to have a lot more safety features and waste disposal plans than the nuke plants of yore, making them a lot more expensive to build and maintain- up to $.30/kWh; solar thermal energy half that much, coal power a third. Nuclear power won't be killed by anti-nuke activists, it will be killed by its bottom line.
They are so big, that it's quicker to fly a helicopter up to fix in instead of climbing up the internal ladder.
Sean Sakamoto, a friend of Colin Beaven, aka No Impact Man, recently moved to Japan and writes about his experience in his unheated home. Most houses in Japan aren't heated and families gather around a heated table called the kotatsu, fostering and encouraging interaction.
