I started the switch thinking ok this will save me some $ in the end. Now I'm not so sure. Apparently there's the whole mercury risk if you break one. Plus one evening while reading under my new bulb I heard a pop and could smell something burning - that hot smell you get when you first turn on the furnace in the fall.
