Bangladesh’s state minister for Environment and Forests has a hard time understanding climate deniers.
The Wonk Room blog got a great video of an interview with Dr. Hasan Mahmud at the Cancun climate meetings responding to questions about climate change skeptics. Mahmud, who holds a doctorate in environmental science, looked no further than his own nation when describing what many in the U.S. Senate don’t see.
“There is salinity intrusion, increased natural calamities that are a symptom of desertification in the northern part of Bangladesh. There is more frequent and more devastating flood, and erratic rainfall. All of these are negative impacts of climate change,” he said in the video.
