Carp running for city council in Michigan
A 20-pound carp is fishing for votes in the Ann Arbor City Council race. It started when the large fish was removed from a city park pond last year (for destroying vegatation, no less) and was relocated to a nearby river. It has its own Twitter account — using the handle @TwentyPoundCarp — and political aspirations.
“When I’m elected as a write-in candidate in the Ward 4 city council race this fall, look for some awesome changes, my friend,” the fish tweeted on Sept. 17, according to ABC News.
