Chaos within Orion

This image was taken from information compiled by the Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes. NASA calls this image striking, noting "at the center of the cloud may be the main culprits in the Orion constellation, a familiar sight in the fall and winter night sky in the northern hemisphere." This is the yellow smudge near the center of the image. The constellation takes its name from the Greek story of a hunter, Orion, who was thought to have been banished to the skies for boasting about his great hunting skills. Look closely to the middle lower field, and you can see misty, winged forms almost like angelic creatures swirling in flight.
