The photographer says this is a shot of the boreal dawn, which occurs 200 days per year. It is never visible when the summer midnight sun is shining.

don't you think it looks like a dragon in the background?
Northern lights are amazing to watch. I remember one time watching them and they were green, with pink highlites; plus you could hear a humming sound. Was totally the most interesting night ever.
