Pluto was declared a planet by all astrologers worldwide at the United Astrology Conference in Denver, 2008

The United Astrology Conference was declared a chicanery body by the Denver Scientific Conference, later in 2008.

I was taught that Pluto was a planet and a planet it remains.

The astro physicists had better concentrate on saving life on planet Earth from human-generated ecocide and extinction and leave the Cosmos alone!

I think its best to leave the earthly work to Earth Physicists. Astro Physiscists, by name, deal with space.
But I do see the importance of taking care of our planet.

what a strange comment. atrophysicists study the universe, they don't study ecology and the dynamics of populations of species. if they did want to do that, they would have to go back to school and obtain BS through PhD's in biology instead of physics.

If they wanted to do it in a highly professional, group leading way, then perhaps. But education in the physical sciences is 90% problem solving, 10% information banking. An astrophysicist is just as capable, given some rudimentary information, as any other scientist in some other field.

My undergraduate advisor, Michael Gilpin, at the University of California, San Diego, was a physicist. He was also faculty in the Ecology/Behavior/Evolution program. And , to my knowledge, never did have a degree in ecology. He found considerable use of his mathematical perspectives in ecology.
