Mars
Mars
In August 2003, Mars came closer to Earth than it had in almost 60,000 years. Mars is tilted on its axis just like Earth, and so has seasons. Scientists believe at one point the planet could have supported life. The planet’s ice caps contain water, and it is possible that water still exists below ground. Today, however, Mars is too cold and dry, and its atmosphere is too thin to support life.
