Interesting how Mr. Bell says that climate change is not directly responsible for hurricanes or a bad or good hurricane season. Should be interesting to see how the rest of the season develops in the fall.

I am really surprised at the lack of hurricanes we have had this year. I guess my thanks goes out to El Nino and La Nina with a request for a hurricane-free week in two weeks when I go on my Caribbean cruise!

...and the people who were swept into the ocean near Maine...I wonder if they just weren't used to hurricane gale winds...here in the south, we respect big waves.

...when the hurricane season was literally non-existent until September? I wonder if hurricanes in the Atlantic and the tropical Pacific could become a fall thing this year, (which would be interesting time if half the U.S. were in bed with the swine flu and the other half was having to pack up & leave their homes before the hurricane hit)

Atlantic hurricanes
The combination of the month of September and neither El Nino nor La Nina (the grey dots) looks like the biggest problem. That's a whole 'nother story.
