POS: "What a piece of garbage. Cant believe he is a firefighter. Hope he gets fired, if not I hope he gets killed painfully in a fire. Better yet, I hope something bad happens to his kids.
You should be ashamed of yourself for such a horrible statement ,his children are as innocent as the dogs were, though his action are unforgivable in every sense of the word, to say something like about his children, is way over the line. Anger and animosity towards this waste of skin is.... More

Gabi - they meant he didn't want to pay to send his dogs to a kennel to board while he was away, not to bring them to be put to sleep.
He's scum, a waste of organs. Anyone who would do this is also in all likelihood a sleazebag criminal in other areas of life, too.

I'm pretty sure the law places pets as property and therefore destroying your own property is not illegal. Most he'll get is a fine.
Still, I fail to believe this is a true story or, if it is, that it's the whole story. Seems a bit pointless for a person to shoot his dogs just to go on vacation. Why did he get two in the first place? Must be more to it than that. Maybe they were dangerous or sick.
Or maybe it's just a troll post, who knows...

You don't shoot something in the head SEVEN TIMES because you killed it with the first bullet.
The dog didn't die painlessly, meat-head.
Also, kennels are, in this instance, places where you pay for people to watch your pet.

i think you mean animal shelters not kennels but i totally agree, we as a culture/society need to make up our minds about whether or not we think it's morally reprehensible to kill healthy animals or not, not base our morality about whether or not we see it.

everyone gets outraged about this but what about the thousands of pets put down by the aspca and other kennels that are for "animal rights?"
if he had brought his dogs to a kennel they would've been killed, why the outrage he did it by shooting them in the head (quick, painless, in a familiar surrounding) rather than by an injection (terrified, in pain, in a scary environment)

That man deserves to be shot and should suffer the same fate as his dogs. He's a waste of skin and taking up too much oxygen!

A 90-day sentence for the murder of two animals with an illegal weapon outlines the need for legislative change in the state of Ohio.
The story is clear cut: a firefighter, preparing for a vacation and wanting to avoid the costs and hassles of a kennel, took his two family dogs to the basement, tied them up, and killed them. This week he plead guilty to two counts of animal cruelty and one count of possession of an illegal weapon.
There is, especially in a state like Ohio, an obvious.... More
