A milkweed seed pod unfurls with beautiful shape and movement

The photographer of this shot, Donald Quintana, was originally set on getting images of the monarch butterflies and caterpillars that feed on the milkweed plants. But is artist eye noticed something else as well. "When one raises monarch butterflies, one acquires a number of milkweed plants for the caterpillars to feed upon. Today I went out to see how the caterpillars and chrysalis were all doing... I also noticed how beautiful the seed pods are when they open and prepare to take to the wind."
