According to his facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Hanson-Appalachian-Trail-Campaign/1897...) Mike Hanson completed roughly 1700 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Though not the total trail he didn't pass on the rough and dangerous sections like Mt. Moosilake, Lehigh Gap, Mt. Washington, Katahdin and Mahoosuc Notch. An absolutely incrdeible accomplishment.

Bill was the first blind person to hike the trail with just his sightseeing dog in 1990. I saw him give a speech when I was a boy scout and will never forget him.

How could Irwin not have been included? This shows an utter lack of research on this topic.
